The beginnings of Pasym date back to 1386, when it was founded by the master of the Teutonic Order, Konrad von Rothenstein. In the Middle Ages, Pasym developed dynamically. Around 1500, the city already had 557 inhabitants, and during the Thirteen Years' War, it sided with Poland. However, after the Peace of Toruń, it returned under the rule of the Order. After the Thirteen Years' War, the Schervitzen Hof Castle was erected in Pasym, but it has not survived to this day. The castle was demolished and a Catholic church was built in its place.. The medieval layout of streets surrounding the market square is preserved in the center of Pasym.
