This is an idea for an interesting day in the Stołowe Mountains: a trip from Karłowo to Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m), a tour of the reserve, and then a trail around Szczeliniec Mały (895 m) to Pasterka and return to Karłów. The trail is not long (less than 9 km) and it is not difficult (405 m level differences up and down) but it is very interesting and attractive. There are mountain huts on Szczeliniec Wielki and in Pasterka, so you can drink or eat something.
The trail to Szczeliniec Wielki
We walked along the yellow trail from the parking lot in Karłów to Szczeliniec Wielki.
Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m) is the highest peak in the Stołowe Mountains belongs to the Crown of Polish Mountains. Here is the view from the rock formation with an interesting name: Fotel Pradziada (The Armchair of Great-Grandfather). This is the highest point on this mountain.
There is an entrance to the reserve behind the mountain shelter in Szczeliniec Wielki. There, you can admire the amazing rock formations during your visit. The length of the tourist route in reserve is about 2 km.
There is a nature reserve on the large flat peak of Szczeliniec Wielki.
The Monkey rock (Małpolud) in the reservation at Szczeliniec Wielki.
If there was a hell ... then there must be heaven too ... I love such pines on the rocks!
The weather is very changeable in the mountains - sometimes the sun, sometimes rain ... amazing views!
High rock formations built of sandstone overgrown with pine trees - views in the Stołowe (Table) Mountains are amazing.
The Elephant Rock is one of many amazing rock formations on Szczeliniec in Table Mountains in Poland.
We went along the blue hiking trail to Pasterka, after leaving the reserve.
Rocky walls of Szczeliniec Mały (895 m) - view from the Pasterka village.

We stayed here:
ul. Górska 2
57-320 Polanica-Zdrój, Poland
Polanica-Zdrój is a small health resort near the Stołowe Mountains and Bystrzyckie Mountains, only 10 km from Kłodzko, less than 25 km from the ski station in Zieleniec and about 35 km from the Czarna Góra ski resort. We like to come back to this area because the Kłodzko Land is beautiful and very interesting. You can walk in the mountains and ski in the winter. You can enter a cave or a gold or uranium mine. You can admire architecture, cities, churches, big fortresses and mountain landscapes. Everyone will find attractions for themselves :-) This time, in September, we decided to see the Stołowe Mountains (Table Mountains) and Rock Towns in the Czech Republic.
