We got to Tolkmicko on a summer afternoon on the way from Elbląg to Frombork. When I have time, I usually choose not the shortest route, but one that will allow me to see something more. That is why we left Elbląg along road number 503 along the Vistula Lagoon through Suchacz and Kadyny to Tolkmicko. The route runs beautifully through the hills of the Elbląg Upland.
We got to Tolkmicko in the late afternoon. We parked the car at Wolności Square next to the town hall and went for a walk around the city.
You can reach Tolkmicko by car, motorbike or bicycle, but you can also get there by yacht. Aerial view of the port and marina in Tolkmicko. There was very good ice cream at the entrance to the port - I recommend it!
Monuments in Tolkmicko: the urban layout of the city, the tower from the end of the 14th century, the remains of the defensive walls, the railway station, the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, the Church of St. James the Apostle and the cemetery chapel.
The sandy beach is on the eastern side of the port on the Vistula Lagoon in Tolkmicko.

Historic train station and railway station on closed tracks. In my opinion, it is a great pity that this railway line is not used because it could be an amazing tourist attraction. The train could start from Elbląg and go along the Vistula Lagoon through Suchacz, Kadyny, Tolkmicko to Frombork or even further to Braniewo.
It was a beautiful summer evening with almost no wind. The photo shows the calm waters of the Vistula Lagoon and amazing clouds in the sky. There you can see the Vistula Spit in the distance on the horizon.
