Gorgeous colors - green trees, blue skies, red rocks ... silence, peace, intense smell of pine trees and amazing mountain landscapes ... Trail from Degollada de Sargento on Montana de Altavista (1376 m) is the most beautiful mountain hiking trail we have seen in Gran Canaria. The trail is not long (4.7 km one way), there are no large elevations (about 250 m) and it is worth to go for a sunset. If you plan to stay in the mountains until dark, then you must remember about warmer clothes and a flashlight.

We went mountain trail through the pine forest from the parking lot at Degollada de Sargento towards Montana de Altavista (1376 m).

It is already the peak of Montana de Altavista 1376 m. The trail is not difficult - the time of walking is around 1:15, but honestly, there are such views along the way that this time can be much longer :-)

The sun in the Canary Islands goes very fast. The sun suddenly diminishes and disappears behind the horizon in a short time. A few minutes after sunset it gets really dark and it's getting cold. If you intend to stay in the mountains to the west, you must have a flashlight with you and warm clothing with you.
