The Iława Lake District, also known as Western Masuria, is located east of the Vistula River and covers a post-glacial, hilly area with numerous lakes and rivers. It is an ideal place to relax for lovers of water tourism and wild nature.
Jeziorak is the largest lake in the Iława Lake District. This glacial ribbon lake is almost 30 kilometers long and has numerous bays and sixteen islands.
The Narie Lake near Morąg is one of the most beautiful lakes I have seen in Poland. You can see more photos and some information in the gallery: Narie Lake.
Jeziorak is 27.5 kilometers long and is the longest lake in Poland and the sixth in terms of area. It is hard to believe, but the length of the Jeziorak shoreline is as much as 514 kilometers

Ostróda is another large city in the Iława Lake District. You can reach Ostróda from Iława by water, along the Iławski Canal to Miłomłyn and from there the Elbląg Canal to Lake Drwęckie. You can find more photos and information about this city in our gallery: Ostróda.
Ostróda is a tourist city beautifully situated by several lakes. From here you can take a cruise along the Elbląg Canal to Elblag or further to the Vistula Lagoon or even to the Baltic Sea.
Lake Sajmino (Kajkowskie) is a small lake in Ostróda. There is a large swimming area by the lake with a pier and a sandy beach.
The Iława Lake District is a characteristic postglacial area with numerous lakes, rivers, fields, meadows and forests to the horizon. If you take a good look at it on this lake, you will see a sup flowing along the reeds. Sup is a great way to explore lakes from the water.

Jaśkowskie is a gutter lake with a length of 3.5 kilometers and a maximum depth of 16.5 meters.

The Iława Lake District is a perfect region for everyone who loves to rest in nature. Apart from the main tourist centers such as Iława or Ostróda there is peace and quiet. There is a hotel in the Karnity Castle beautifully situated by Lake Kocioł in the photo. It's a great vacation spot!
