St. Nicholas is a tourist city in the center of the Masurian Lake District in Poland. The city lies on two lakes Mikołajskie and Tałta. There are many hotels, guest houses, marinas, holiday resorts, restaurants, cafes, bars and taverns. In the summer the city is full of life - there are a lot of tourists, events, concerts, shanties and many tourist attractions. In the off season, it is much calmer. I recommend visiting Mikołajki in the summer and after the tourist season. Such a comparison is an interesting experience.

There is much quieter in Mikolajki outside the tourist season - little boats in a marina, a lot fewer people, easy to get a free table in a restaurant or cafe. I like to visit such places in spring or autumn!
