St. Nicholas is a tourist city in the center of the Masurian Lake District in Poland. The city lies on two lakes Mikołajskie and Tałta. There are many hotels, guest houses, marinas, holiday resorts, restaurants, cafes, bars and taverns. In the summer the city is full of life - there are a lot of tourists, events, concerts, shanties and many tourist attractions. In the off season, it is much calmer. I recommend visiting Mikołajki in the summer and after the tourist season. Such a comparison is an interesting experience.
Mikolajki - city panorama
Mikołajki in Masuria - a tourist town beautifully situated on the Great Masurian Lakes Trail in north-eastern Poland. There is a cruise ship of the Masurian Shipping in the picture. A cruise on the lakes is one of many local attractions.
Footbridge and Port in Mikołajki
Footbridge over the lakes of Tałta and Mikołajskie. There is the Port in Mikołajki and cruise ships of the Mazurian Shipping Company.
Marina in Mikołajki
Port and marina on the main promenade in Mikołajki. Sailing Village in the summer season.
Autumn weekend in Mikołajki
Masuria in the autumn are quiet and peaceful - there are no tourist crowds. You can go for a weekend to relax in silence.
5-star Hotel Mikolajki
A luxurious 5-star hotel with SPA and swimming pool on the lake in Mikołajki. The hotel can be reached by land or by boat.
Lake Mikołajskie and a quiet marina
If you are looking for a quiet marina in Mikołajki, you just have to cross the Mikołajskie Lake and opposite the Sailor's Village there is a small and quiet harbor at Aleja Spacerowa. I have marked the exact location on the map.
Chopin - a sailing ship in Mikołajki
The Chopin ship is the largest Polish inland sailing ship (it is almost 41 m long) which sails on the lakes. A cruise on this sailing ship can be one of the most interesting tourist attractions of the Great Masurian Lakes.
Mikolajki after the season
There is much quieter in Mikolajki outside the tourist season - little boats in a marina, a lot fewer people, easy to get a free table in a restaurant or cafe. I like to visit such places in spring or autumn!
