The beaches of Gran Canaria - beautiful sandy beaches of golden sand, black beaches, rocky and stony - you can probably find there all kinds of beaches. See more information about this beautiful Canary Island on: Gran Canaria tourist attractions and sightseeing.
San Agustin - beach and hotels
San Agustín - a tourist town in the south of the island. There are the beach: Playa de las Burras, Hotel Dunas Don Gregory and apartments in the picture.
Beautiful sandy beach - Playa de los Amadores on the south coast of Gran Canaria. Even in January, there were a lot of people ... Tenerife and the snowy peak of the volcano Teide you can see on the horizon.
The most beautiful beaches in Gran Canaria
Playa de Amadores is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Gran Canaria. I like to visit such places in the evening, when there are almost no people on the beach, you can easily park your car, drink a coffee in peace and enjoy the views.
Black volcanic sand beach of Arguineguin. As usually happens on the black beaches is a lot less people ... you can put a towel there without fear - the black sand does not get dirty :-)
The southern coast of Gran Canaria is the warmest region of the island. The beaches are in each bay - there is a beautiful golden sand on many of them. Puerto Rico is a small town in the valley. There are a lot of hotels and apartments built on the slopes of hills and hundreds of tourists from around the world on the beach.
Beautiful beach in a small bay .... but unfortunately, hundreds of tourists ... Although we were there in January in Puerto De Mogan we had a big problem finding a place to park your car.
Beaches in the north of Gran Canaria
There are few sandy beaches in the north of Gran Canaria. Usually these are pebble beaches, rocky beaches or pools formed of rocks. But sometimes you can also find a small sandy beach like the one in the picture: Playa El Puertillo.
Aerial view of a rocky beach in a very photogenic village in El Roque. There you can meet surfers more often than bathing enthusiasts on such beaches. The waves here are really impressive. I like places like this because there you can see the power of the ocean.
Playa de Caleta de Arriba is a small beach in a rocky cove next to a very interesting village. We got to this place in the afternoon and the beach was unfortunately in the shade.
An evening at the small beach of Playa de Sardina del Norte in the northwest of the island.
Black sand beach (Playa del Cura) is in the neighboring bay for Playa de los Amadores coming from Puerto Rico to the west in the direction of Puerto de Mogan. It might not be as beautiful as the previous but it is quiet and much less tourists. View photo sphere from the beach.
Beach in La Aldea de San Nicolas
Shingle beach (Playa de la Aldea) on the west coast of Gran Canaria. The small town, beautiful view, the mountains and cliffs, empty beach, a small restaurant with fresh fish - such places we like the most! See spherical image.
Only the sound of the ocean, the sun, a light breeze and amazing views ... It was worth going here winding roads through the mountains.
An evening on the Playa de Amadores beach - peace, quiet, lots of free places on the beach, parking lot and in cafes - it's completely different than during the day.
Sand dunes and beach of Maspalomas
The beach at the dunes of Maspalomas. There is a huge rainbow nudist beach at Maspalomas dunes. See spherical picture of the beach.
Weather in Gran Canaria in January is perfect for me: 22 - 24 degrees Celsius and a light breeze. You can warm up a little and catch a little sunshine. Sunbathing in January - I like that!
Walk along the ocean from Maspalomas to Playa del Ingles and back, with swim in the ocean, it is the perfect way to spend a day at the beach.
Shop No. 1 on the beach Playa del Ingles in Maspalomas at Punta de Maspalomas.
Aerial view of the new sandy beach of Playa de Tauro and beyond Playa del Cura.
Telde Beach, Playa de la Garita
The beach with black volcanic sand on the east coast in Telde.
Beach Playa de El Confital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. You can even sunbathe in January, but this is not surprising because Las Palmas average annual temperature is about 22° C.
Las Canteras Beach, Las Palmas
Two kilometers long sandy beach in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - capital of Gran Canaria island. It is one of the most popular beaches in Europe. Along the beach is a promenade with hotels and restaurants, bars and pubs.
The sculpture on the beach in Las Palmas
Sculpture of fisherman on the promenade of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. La Puntilla square.
Playa del Águila (Eagle's Beach) - stony beach in a small tourist town.
Sandy beach in San Agustín - Playa de las Burras. There you can see hotels and apartments in Playa del Inglés in the background.
