Gdańsk is one of the most visited cities in Poland. There are many attractions and events for tourists here. There it is in the city center and the beaches are very crowded in summer. I like to come to Gdańsk early in the morning on such summer days. The city is still asleep, and I can admire the sunrise over the city in peace. You must also see Gdańsk in the afternoon and evening. The gardens of restaurants and cafes are full. You can hear different languages on each side - you can feel like you are under the Tower of Babel :-) The city is alive and having fun!
You can see more photos from this amazing city in the galleries: Gdansk by night, Gdańsk from the sky, Autumn in Gdańsk and Winter in Gdańsk.
If you like my photos, you can order a printout :-)
The Gdańsk Crane and the Motława River embankment are best photographed in the morning, shortly after sunrise. Therefore, on this summer day, I went to Gdańsk exceptionally early.
The low sun illuminated Gdańsk beautifully. In the morning, in my opinion, there is the best light for shooting. The only problem is the very early sunrises in summer.
Taking pictures with the drone
Taking pictures with a drone gives you a lot of flexibility in the location of the camera. You don't have to fly high at all. Thanks to the fact that you can take a photo from a few meters high, we avoid optical distortions. Drones are great for photographing cities and architecture.
The Motława River is like a mirror
The morning was practically windless that day. There was almost no wave on the surface of the water. The photo shows the tenement houses at Dlugie Pobrzeże and even a piece of the historic Crane :-)
Top-down view of the tenement houses in the Main Town, the Motława River and the Granary Island. I really like such abstract pictures. Additionally, when looking from above, you can see the difference between old and new architecture. In the older part, maybe it is a bit uneven, but you can see free spaces and some greenery ... but in the new one, every space is built-up.
Sunrise over the marina and the Angielska Grobla estate in the center of Gdańsk. There is a cable-stayed bridge in the distance and refinery chimneys on the horizon.
The Motława river bank after sunrise
There are no crowds of tourists on Dlugie Pobrzeze in the morning. I recommend that you go for a walk and admire Gdańsk architecture in peace.
The smooth surface of the water on the Motława River encouraged people to look for frames with a reflection.
Tenement houses at Święty Ducha street in the historic district of Gdańsk.
The historic center of Gdańsk just after sunrise. Gentle light falls on St. Mary's Basilica and the roofs of tenement houses.
Ołowianka Island and industrial districts in Gdańsk
Lots of water ... rivers and canals ... I like to see the world from above - completely different views.
St. Catherine's Church in Gdansk
St. Catherine's Church is the oldest church in the Old Town of Gdańsk.
And here is the same church as in the previous photo, only from a different perspective.
Crane on the crane :-) and if you look closely, you can also see a competitor :-)
Dominican Market Hall in Gdańsk
Gdańsk Market Hall, Podwale Staromiejskie Street and the medieval Jacek Tower.
A classic postcard from Gdańsk - Długie Pobrzeże (Long Embankment) and the Crane illuminated by the rays of the rising sun.
Szeroka Street in the Main City of Gdańsk. There is famous St. Dominic's Fair on this street every August.
Drones are perfect for photographing cities. These "flying cameras" allow us to look at the city and buildings from any direction. There is the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in central Gdańsk.in the photo.
You can buy our photos from Gdańsk and use them as wall prints, wall murals, illustrations in magazines, calendars, folders, advertisements, graphics on websites. You can see more photos from this beautiful city in the galleries: Gdańsk from the sky, Winter in Gdańsk.
Tenement houses in the historic center of Gdańsk, beautifully illuminated by evening light.
Gdańsk tenement houses in the summer
The late afternoon sun illuminates the tenement houses in the Main Town in the center of Gdańsk.
Drones are great for photographing cities and architecture. You can get up close and see the details, sculptures, decorations - the city from a completely different perspective. How I wish I could fly!
Hotels and restaurants in the center of Gdańsk
Hotels, apartment buildings, restaurants, pubs and cafes have been built on Wyspa Spichrzów in the center of Gdańsk for several years.
You can sail yachts, motorboats, canoes, jet skis or cruise ships on the Motława River in the center of Gdańsk.
View of historic tenement houses in Gdańsk from Święty Ducha Street.
Motlawa river in the center of Gdańsk
The sun has gone down, the day is over. Evening falls over Gdańsk. The lanterns are already on but the sky is not completely black yet. This is the perfect time to start flying and photographing. It is only a few or a dozen minutes of good light.
Evening view of Dlugie Ogrody street. You can see the Stągiewna Gate in the center of the picture.
Night photo of the historic center of Gdańsk: Town Hall Tower, Long Market and Green Gate. If you want to see more night photos from this beautiful city, visit the gallery: Gdańsk by night.
I really like the frame in which the cathedral dominates the Lower Town in Gdańsk. More night photos from this amazing city you cen see in the gallery: Gdańsk by night.
September evening in the middle of the week - the city is alive. In the photo: Długi Targ and the Zielona Brama (Green Gate) in the center of Gdańsk.
The Gothic-Renaissance Town Hall and the co-cathedral St. Mary's Church dominate the Main Town in Gdańsk.
Wind is the biggest problem when shooting with a drone after sunset. This evening was practically windless so I could set the shutter speed to 2.5 seconds. At ISO 100 and 2.8 aperture the photo came out blurry, sharp and without noise.
