The Masurian Lake District in autumn is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. I was captivated by those misty mornings and crazy blaze of colors. Additionally, the sun rises much later than in summer and you don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to shoot at sunrise. Although the mornings and evenings can be very cold and there may be frost. During our weekend in October at Giżycko I had to scrape ice off my car windows in the morning before we left.
An amazing circular bay with a small canal that connects to Lake Kisajno. I marked the location of this mysterious bay on the map. I do not know if you can sail there because the islands on Kisajno Lake are under reserve protection.

Picturesque sunset over Lake Gołdapiwo. Gołdapiwo is located on the outskirts of the Borecka Forest, where you can meet bison - the largest wild animal in Poland.

Lake Żabinki is not very large but over 42 meters deep. It is located 20 kilometers north-east of Giżycko. A narrow isthmus connects with Lake Gołdapiwo. Both lakes are in the Protected Landscape Area of the Great Masurian Lakes Region and are included in the silence zone.
