Mount Śnieżka - Death Couloir
View of Śnieżka from the vicinity of the Dom Śląski mountain shelter. This photo clearly shows the Śnieżka Death Couloir (Rynna Śmierci) - a gully that cuts through the Jubilee Route leading to the Łomniczka Cirque. It starts near the observatory building at the summit and is visible as a distinct line running diagonally to the left. This is a very dangerous place, especially in winter when the slopes of Śnieżka are covered with ice and snow. A fall near the summit can result in a slide down to the Łomniczka Cirque.
