The castle in Będzin is one of the oldest and most beautiful castles in Poland. It is located on a hill above Czarna Przemsza, in the Będzin poviat, in the Silesian Voivodeship. The castle was built in the 14th century by King Casimir III the Great. This medieval stronghold is a testimony to the turbulent history of the city. It was repeatedly besieged and conquered by enemies. During the Swedish Deluge in 1655-1656, the castle was destroyed, but it was rebuilt in 1665. Currently, the Castle in Będzin is open to the public.
