What to do in Bergamo when it rains
I recommend visiting museums and churches on rainy days in Bergamo. Accademia Carrara and the interior of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore made the biggest impression on me. Paintings and sculptures on the walls and ceiling have caught my attention for a long time in the basilica: angels, archangels, devils and demons, saints, apostles, crossing the Red Sea, a lady holds her head cut off, knights - one even on a white horse, the first murder, paradise and hell, birth of Jesus, three kings, miracles, torture, crucifixion, ascension ... The whole Bible in pictures.
