Granary Island in Gdańsk in Poland is a place with a centuries-old history, dating back to the Middle Ages, when the first granaries were built along the Motława River to support maritime trade. For centuries, it was one of the city’s most important storage areas and a symbol of Gdańsk’s port significance. In 1945, during World War II, the island’s buildings were almost completely destroyed, and the area remained in ruins for many decades. A turning point came on March 19, 2015, when the competition for the development of the northern tip of Granary Island was resolved, marking the beginning of its true revitalization. Within a few years, hotels, apartment buildings, restaurants, and service spaces were constructed, referencing the forms of historic granaries while meeting the contemporary needs of the city. Today, Granary Island combines historical heritage with modern architecture, becoming one of the most dynamically developing parts of Gdańsk. I invite you to explore my photographs of Granary Island in Gdańsk, captured at different times of day and in varying conditions, showing this place from a unique perspective. The photographs are available as high-quality prints ready to be displayed on a wall, as well as digital files that can be used for advertising, promotional materials, and projects such as photo wallpapers.

How to fly a drone in winter?

How to fly a drone in winter?

Flying a drone in winter is possible, but it requires extra caution. Before takeoff, always check the manufacturer’s manual for the temperature range in which your drone can operate. Pay close attention to moisture - at temperatures around 0°C, icing may occur, and fog, snow, or frost can accumulate on the drone and propellers. Keep in mind that flight time is significantly reduced in low temperatures. For example, the DJI Mini 5 Pro flew for about 22 minutes at -10°C. Plan shorter flights and leave enough battery reserve for a safe return and landing.

Modern apartments in the heart of Gdańsk

Modern apartments in the heart of Gdańsk

Apartments in the center of Gdańsk offer an attractive location and contemporary architecture, but often at the expense of green spaces. Modern development standards mean that almost every part of a plot is allocated for construction. This has become a characteristic feature of today’s approach to urban design in city centers.

Investment Apartments in the Center of Gdańsk

Investment Apartments in the Center of Gdańsk

For centuries, Wyspa Spichrzów served as Gdańsk’s economic hub. Dozens of granaries once stood here, storing grain transported along the Vistula to the port. During World War II, most of the buildings were destroyed, and for several decades the area remained largely undeveloped despite its prime central location.

A turning point came after 2010, when a comprehensive reconstruction of Wyspa Spichrzów began. The new buildings were constructed from the ground up, but their architecture deliberately references Gdańsk’s historical structures – narrow facades, vertical divisions, varied heights, and steeply pitched roofs echo the layout of the old granaries and townhouses. The exteriors feature brick, light plaster, and large windows facing the Motława River.

The island’s location near the historic city center makes the apartments attractive not only for living but also as an investment for short-term and tourist rentals.
