The pier in Ustka consists of two breakwaters. The eastern one is often visited by tourists and walkers, while the western one is a haven for fishermen and solitude seekers. Both breakwaters surround the entrance to the Ustka port. There is also a third pier in Ustka. This unfinished breakwater from 1938-1939 was meant to shield the port from the west and be part of an ambitious project by Nazi Germany to turn Ustka into a second Gdynia. Currently, the pier is deteriorating, and recent storms have shortened it by several meters, causing part of the structure to collapse into the sea.
