This charming place, laid out in 1550 by the builder of royal fortresses, Job Praetfuess, serves as the city's central point. The restored tenements from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries surrounding the square give it a unique character. In the heart of the Market Square lies a beautiful park, established in 1847 and once known as the Saxon Garden. Here, we can admire the column of Sigismund II Augustus and a fountain that complete the picturesque view.
