The oldest monument in Mielno is the Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, built in the 15th century. It is a Gothic church located on a small hill about 750 meters from the Baltic Sea. The single-nave church, built of brick and stone, impresses with its massiveness, simplicity and severity. Around the church there are remains of a moat, which may indicate its former defensive function of this impressive building.
Other interesting historical places are the remains of German bunkers, which were built in 1940-1941 to defend the Baltic coast. Two bunkers have survived to this day, 200 meters apart, which can be visited on foot or by bike, following the red tourist trail. These bunkers, made of 50 cm thick concrete, are 11 meters by 7 meters and have two windows, but no entrance hole. They are an interesting element of the history of Mielno and are eagerly visited by tourists.
