Nicolaus Copernicus was born in Toruń in 1473, but he spent most of his professional life in Frombork. He moved there in 1510 and lived for nearly 30 years. During this time, he conducted astronomical research and wrote his most famous work, "De revolutionibus orbium coelestium." Although he occasionally traveled, including to Olsztyn, Frombork remained the place where he served as a canon and administrator of the chapter's estates. After his death in 1543, he was buried in the cathedral in Frombork.
