Elbląg is one of the oldest cities in Poland, founded in 1237. The city enchants visitors with its renovated Old Town, which was rebuilt almost entirely from scratch after the destruction of World War II. It is also worth visiting the Archaeological and Historical Museum, where exhibits related to the city's history are on display, including medieval artifacts, musical instruments, and old teaching aids. Elbląg is also famous for the Elbląg Canal, a unique waterway where boats are transported over inclined planes using special mechanisms. Interestingly, Elbląg is the lowest-lying city in Poland, with its elevation ranging from -1.8 meters below sea level to 92 meters above sea level. The city also boasts a rich industrial tradition, with thriving heavy industry, furniture manufacturing, and food production sectors.
