Nicolaus Copernicus in Olsztyn
In 1516, Nicolaus Copernicus came to the Olsztyn castle to take the position of administrator of the estates of Warmia bishops. Copernicus lived and worked in Olsztyn for five years. It was here, around 1520, that he began to write his most famous work: "On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres" (De revolutionibus orbium coelestium).
